Overview

• Audacity is a free, easy-to-use audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. You can use Audacity to:

  • Edit Ogg Vorbis, MP3, and WAV sound files.

Technical Terms

"Embedding" multimedia objects into a web page
Multimedia objects such as Shockwave and QuickTime are not automatically supported by internet browsers. "Embedding" multimedia objects into a webpage directs the internet browser to use an external application or plugin to display the file.
